Brighton & Hove City Brass are an amateur brass band from the seaside resort of Brighton & Hove, Sussex, England. We regularly perform at a wide range of concerts, fayres, garden parties and marches in and around Sussex, Surrey and Kent.

We have provided soloists, small groups, and a full brass band for weddings, fanfares, and dinner parties, plus major events held at the Brighton Centre, Brighton & Hove Albion's football ground, and the Millennium Dome. Regular venues include Brighton seafront, Hever Castle, Parham Park, Royal Pavilion Lawns, plus the annual Lewes and Newick bonfire parades. We take part in a number of contests throughout the year, playing both test pieces and own choice entertainment programmes, and we are currently registered in the 1st Section of the Southern Counties Amateur Band Association and the 2nd Section of the National Brass Band Association.

Our main aims are to improve the playing ability of the individual players of the band, and the band as a whole. Our programme of public performances involves us playing a wide range of music to cover all (or most) musical tastes, ranging from classical to modern pop taking in the big band sounds and the musicals on the way.

All the players are amateur musicians with full time jobs, in addition to rehearsing every Monday. usually twice a week in the run up to contests, and practising at home in between. The band holds regular social activities including quizzes, treasure hunts, sports matches, and has twice visited Holland for a mixture of performances and holiday. The band is always looking at new ways of trying to expand the range of activities and performances of the band, as well as any possible link ups with other bands and/or musical groups.
