Join the Band

New players are always welcome. If there are any players out there who do not know what to do on their Monday evenings, then please feel free to contact our chairman or secretary for more details. Our current rehearsal room is at Woodingdean Methodist Church Hall, The Ridgway, Woodingdean. Rehearsals take place from 8 pm until 10pm.

Click here to see where the church is on a map. Please note that the church is located between Kipling Avenue and Ridgway Gardens. Woodingdean is easily accessed from the A27 falmer exit and the church is signposted from the Falmer Road (after the crossroads). There is plenty of parking around the church as well as a small car park.

Hire the Band

The band can provide a full brass band, small groups, or soloists suitable for any occasion. We can cater for a fete, a carnival, a wedding reception, or a concert. The band is available for hire at any location within the South East although the diary gets booked up very quickly. Please contact the Secretary for more details.

Sponsor the Band

The band operates on an amateur basis with all players contributing nominally towards the costs of running the band, along with fees from engagements and fund raising events. The running costs of the band includes the rehearsal hall hire, conductors expenses, instruments, music, stands, uniforms, insurance and performing rights payments. In the past the band have received sponsorship from 'Brighton Buses' but when they merged with a rival company our support was stopped. Since then we have received assistance from 'Famous Moes Pizza' and 'Van Den Burgh Foods' (Unilever). There is currently an opportunity for a sponsor or sponsors to be associated with the band for many of its activities.
